Charlotte awarded prestigious Fellowship from CIPR

Sidekick’s Charlotte Dimond has been awarded prestigious Fellowship status by our industry’s leading body, the Chartered Institute of PR (CIPR).

Charlotte, who has been working in PR for almost 26 years, was named as one of three practitioners in the CIPR’s latest round of nominations.

The status is awarded for outstanding work in public relations, notable contributions to the Institute and significant personal achievements within the profession.

Commenting on her nomination, Charlotte said: “I’m really proud to have been awarded Fellowship by the CIPR.

“Like many, I fell into the industry, with a degree in English Literature, but I've made it my mission along the way to learn and to be a bridge between academia and practice, undertaking an MA in Strategic Communication and currently doing a PhD focused on Trust and Misinformation.

“How I wish I could tell that little girl from the council estate in Rotherham in her free NHS glasses and her free school uniform, that she'd have such an amazing career in an industry that she loves and has loved for so long.”

Alongside her role as co-director at Sidekick PR and her academic studies, Charlotte also sits on multiple CIPR committees, mentors young PR professionals and students, judges industry awards, lectures in PR at Sheffield Hallam University and is co-chair of the national Emergency Planning Society’s Communication Working Group.

Sidekick’s Eve Worthington said: “We couldn’t be prouder of Charlotte and all she has achieved. We’re lucky to have her here at Sidekick and to see her PR skills in action every day. She is a real inspiration to so many in our sector and beyond.”
